Maine Coastal Program Grants
Grants for Local and Regional Projects Along the Maine Coast
The Maine Coastal Program is seeking applications for a new round of coastal grants for FY 2016 totaling $265,000. The grants are for municipal and regional projects in Maine’s Coastal Zone. The two types of available grants covered by this announcement include: Coastal Communities grant and Shore and Harbor Planning grants.
Eligible entities include: towns in Maine’s coastal zone, groups of towns in Maine’s coastal zone; coastal Regional Planning Commissions; and coastal Councils of Government.
Deadline: Thursday May 14, 2015
Funds will be allocated as follows:
Shore and Harbor: $80,000 in funds; maximum award: $30,000
Coastal Communities: $185,000 in funds; maximum award: $50,000
At least 25% of total funds are expected to be allocated to adaptation planning to projects which have a primary focus on preparing for coastal storms, erosion and flooding and coastal hazards.
