MDOT announces a Boating Infrastructure Grant (BIG) funding opportunity

The Boating Infrastructure Grant, funded by the U.S Fish and Wildlife Service, is available for projects that may benefit recreational transient boats that are 26 feet or larger. Available for both public and private facilities, BIG grants often benefit all users in a harbor or coastal tidewater facility. This is an important opportunity to help improve Maine coastal communities.

Information and application guidelines are available at USFWS Announcement and Information (pdf).

If you are interested in applying, please complete the BIG Questionnaire (MS Word) and e-mail to dan.stewart@maine.gov by Friday, September 27th. The questionnaire must be submitted in order to be considered for this opportunity.

After you submit your questionnaire, a site visit or phone call will be set up, after which you may be encouraged to submit a full application.

For more information, view a powerpoint at http://www.maine.gov/mdot/pga/qcp/ship/.

WCCOG staff is available to assist you with your questionnaire and application - call the office at 454-0465 or via e-mail to Judy East (jceast@wccog.net)
