Roads Workshop: How to Form a Road Association and Maintain Gravel Roads

On Friday August 14 Hancock County Soil & Water Conservation District Manager Megan Facciolo will offer practical advice and a step-by-step guide to forming a road association. After lunch Phil Curtis, consultant to Maine DOT Local Roads Center, will lead a session in the design, installation, and maintenance of gravel roads. Bill LaFlamme from Maine DEP will discuss environmental impacts from gravel roads.

When: Friday, August 14, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: Big Cat’s Catering (White Birches), 15 Fairway Lane, Hancock (off Route 1)

Cost: $35 for ½ day; $50 for full day with lunch provided for he full-day attendees.

Certified contractors can receive 4 continuing education units from DEP for participation in the afternoon road maintenance session.
