Shore and Harbor Grants Available

Coastal Communities Grants

The Maine Coastal Program is seeking applications for a new round of coastal grants for FY 2015 totaling $265,000. The grants are for municipal and regional projects in Maine’s Coastal Zone.  The two types of available grants covered by this announcement include:

Grant applications for both grant programs are due Tuesday, July 1st.
 
Those eligible to apply include towns in Maine’s coastal zone, groups of towns in Maine’s coastal zone; coastal Regional Planning Commissions; and coastal Councils of Government.
 
The MCP plans to allocate funds as follows:
 
Shore and Harbor - Total Anticipated Funds: $80,000; Maximum Award: $20,000
Coastal Communities - Total Anticipated Funds: 185,000; Maximum Award: $50,000
 
At least 25% of Coastal Communities grants will be allocated to adaptation planning to projects which have a primary focus on preparing for coastal storms, erosion and flooding and coastal hazards.
